Why I Built the Kind of Support I Needed Most

Motherhood changed me.
Not just physically. Emotionally. Mentally. Spiritually.
Long before Maxson Wellness had a name, it was becoming inside of me.
First through my competition journey. Then through rebuilding myself again. And now, through motherhood and postpartum life, where balance has become less of a luxury and more of a necessity.
Stepping on stage taught me discipline.
Motherhood taught me grace.
And somewhere between those two versions of myself, Maxson Wellness was born.
The Journey to Strength
When I first stepped into the world of fitness, I was overwhelmed by the noise.
The endless cycles of diet culture. The unrealistic expectations. The all-or-nothing mindset that told women we either had to do everything perfectly or not at all.
For a long time, I lived inside that mindset.
But my relationship with food had been complicated long before fitness entered the picture.
There was a season of my life where food became both control and comfort.
At one point, I found myself in a body and a life that no longer felt like mine.
I was in a heavy season. Emotionally exhausted. Unhappy in my marriage. Deeply disconnected from myself.
What I didn’t realize at the time was that I had begun self-medicating with food.
Not because I lacked discipline.
Because I was hurting.
That realization changed everything.
This journey stopped being about shrinking my body and started becoming about healing my relationship with it.
What the Stage Taught Me
Stepping on stage for my first bikini competition taught me what discipline looked like.
It taught me consistency. Commitment. Resilience.
With the guidance of my coach, I was able to rise to a challenge that once felt impossible.
She helped me get to the stage.
And for that, I will always have respect and gratitude.
But what I wasn’t prepared for was what came after.
After my first show, I found myself binge eating in secret.
Closet eating. Donuts. Cookies. Anything that could temporarily fill the emptiness.
And I remember realizing something that still stays with me.
I had climbed this enormous mountain in front of me.
I had done something huge.
I had made it to the top.
But emotionally, in the aftermath, I felt completely alone.
No real community. No support system helping me navigate life after the show. No one talking about what happens when the structure disappears and real life comes rushing back in.
I had achieved the goal, but I didn’t know how to sustain it in real life.
That moment planted the first seed of what Maxson Wellness would eventually become.
Because women should never have to climb alone.
Even now, as I’m actively training for another show, I am still in the thick of learning balance.
I am still living this.
Still refining discipline with grace.
Still learning how ambition and motherhood can coexist.
That’s exactly why I know how to support women through it.
Motherhood, Guilt, and Real-Life Wellness
Motherhood brought a new kind of challenge.
Not discipline.
Permission.
Permission to take care of myself without guilt.
Permission to carve out time for movement without feeling like I was taking something away from my daughter.
I know the mom guilt.
The internal tug-of-war between wanting to show up fully for your family and also needing to show up for yourself.
That space is where so many women lose themselves.
They stop seeing themselves as women.
As humans.
As people worthy of care.
And I want women to know this:
Taking care of yourself does not take away from your family.
It strengthens the way you show up for them.
The Missing Piece: Grace
What I believe women need most is not more pressure.
Not another rigid plan.
Not more shame.
They need permission.
Grace.
Education.
And support that recognizes that our bodies are not machines.
Hormones matter.
Stress matters.
Sleep matters.
Motherhood matters.
Our bodies shift with every season.
The way we feel, recover, eat, and train can be deeply influenced by what is happening internally.
This is why relationship with food and body trust matter so much.
I do not coach women from a place of perfection.
I coach from lived experience.
I know what it feels like to struggle.
I know what it feels like to rebuild.
And I know what it feels like to come out stronger, softer, and more grounded on the other side.
Why Maxson Wellness Exists
Maxson Wellness was built from lived experience.
From healing. From rebuilding. From motherhood. From strength.
I created the kind of support I once needed most.
A place where women do not have to earn their worth.
A place where progress is allowed to happen in real life.
A place where strength and softness can exist together.
A place where women can trust the coach because she has walked through the fire too.
